Individualized Family Service Plane (IFSP)

An Individualized Family Service Plan (IFSP) is a plan for special services for children from birth to three years of age with developmental delays. Once a child turns 3 years old, an Individualized Education Program (IEP) is put into place. The program was created by Public Law 99-457.

There are lots of skills that develop in the first three years of a child’s life. Some infants and toddlers meet developmental milestones more slowly than expected. This is called a developmental delay. Early intervention can help infants and toddlers with delays catch up in their development.
